Smiley Magnets for DaddySuper cute! Super easy!
These little magnets are made using clear marble magnets, pictures of smiling faces, and, of course, lots of love.
Here is what you’ll need…
· Flat backed clear marbles (most craft stores will have them)
· Round magnets
· Lots of photographs of daddy’s little boys/girls
· White glue
· Scissors
· Paint and/or crayons
· Pen
Here is how you do it…
1. Find some pictures that show off the beautiful faces of kids and family members (you can even use pictures of your pets!). Remember – when selecting your faces that they need to be small enough to fit inside the marble (ours were about the size of a loonie).
2. Have your little ones place the marble over the little face that they have chosen, and trace around it with a pen/marker. Now, cut out your little faces. For littler ones (i.e. under 3) you’ll need to do this step for them.
3. Using their fingers, have your little artists smear a thin layer of white glue on the back of the marble. Next, place the marble down onto the cut-out photo and let dry.
4. Finally, glue the magnet to the back and let dry.
*Tip for smaller hands: For my daughter Carly, who is 17 months, cutting out pictures and playing with glue is, generally, not a good idea. So, for her craft, I cut out little white circles of paper that she then coloured with crayons and paint (I recommend putting your little one in their high chair in order to minimize the paint on your walls and floors!). We then followed the same instructions outlined above (with my help of course!). Now we have beautiful coloured magnets made by Daddy’s littlest girl!
In time for Father’s Day, these magnets make a great gift that Daddy can stick on the fridge, put on the filing cabinet at the office, of even stick to his toolbox.
Have fun, and happy Father’s Day!
