Top Diaper Bags For Dads

Dads, listen up! Apparently, wiping your baby’s poopy bum can bring you inner peace. At least that’s what Coldplay front man Chris Martin would have you believe. He says he’s of the belief that men should always change diapers. He considers it “ a very rewarding experience” and “mentally cleansing.” He explains, “It’s like washing dishes, but imagine if the dishes were your kids, so you really love the dishes.”   Uh huh.

As much as I’m all for men changing diapers, I don’t expect them to enjoy themselves while they do it.   In fact, I’m quite certain that my husband would rather wash a round of dishes than scrape my son’s diaper pucks into the toilet. Still, I applaud him, and all the men who do take the initiative to change their kids’ diapers.

To show all the Dads out there we appreciate their valiant diaper changing efforts, why not equip them with a diaper bag they can carry as proudly as that new baby!

Here are some great gift ideas to help him feel Dad-tastic!

Wee Generation Diaper Bag by Seventh Generation

$$$$

This messenger style diaper bag is not only highly functional, but also designed with the planet in mind. One of the cool features is the Japanese inspired upholstery fabric made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles. The bag includes removable totes for feeding and changing your baby, a separate changing pad, and detachable bottle “cozy” and accessory pouch. The PVC-free waterproof liner also makes wiping messes a breeze. Dad is guaranteed to love this eco-chic diaper bag—maybe even enough to want to change diapers!

Guitar Messenger from Diaper Dude

$$$

This rockin’ bag is so cool; you won’t believe it’s for diapers! The messenger style bag is perfect for the Guitar Hero Dad. Features include three exterior zip-closed pockets—perfect for keeping food, wipes, and a change of clothes separate. It also comes with a changing pad, wet/dry pocket, and large inner pouch with separate compartment for the “nasties”.

Daddy Daypac from Mipac

$$$

This sporty messenger style diaper bag was designed with the active Dad in mind. It has tons of great features and is a great value for the money. This spacious bag includes a padded change pad, special diaper envelope, insulated bottle holder, ergonomic comfort, and hands-free access to baby.

This is another great eco-friendly diaper bag that is easy on the wallet. It’s based on Fleurville’s classic “Mothership” design, only better! The bag is spacious and lightweight, and made out of 100% post consumer plastic bottles. The adjustable shoulder strap has a wide range of fit, enabling you to wear it as a shoulder bag, messenger bag, or over the stroller handle. The outer flap is silk-screened with a funky botanical black print and comes in a variety of colours. Also available in solid black with red trim. This is a bag both mom and dad will fight over. PVC and Teflon free.

Scout Rubicon Leather Rucksack from Petunia Pickle Bottom

$$$$$

Is it an insult to call this sleek leather rucksack a “diaper bag?” In addition to diapers, it certainly packs a lot of class. The versatile bag can also be easily converted into a lap top bag—just snap out the waterproof interior linings and replace with the padded laptop lining. Other features include two pockets for easy “reach and grab”, a large magnetic snap pocket, two exterior detachable bottle pockets, changing pad with snap-in compartment, and leather valet stroller clips. Sigh. If it’s a little out of your price range, check out:

The Journey Pack

from the Scout collection. It’s got all the class of the rucksack for a fraction of the price.
